Hard Candy Polish Review & Swatches

Hi lovelies! I hope everyone is having a good week so far, and happy hump day! I don’t know about any of you but I am definitely looking forward to the weekend!

So today I decided to do a review on three polishes that I picked up last week. I had never heard of Hard Candy but I saw fellow blogger post about it, so I figured I would give them a shot and see how they turned out. I picked them up at Wal-Mart for $4 a bottle, a steal compared to other polishes I have! The three colors that I picked up are 672 Party Lights, 664 Gummy Green and 627 Crush On Caribbean.

The first polish I tried was the 664 Gummy Green, because it just looked way too cute to not try first! Gummy Green is part of the Hard Candy “Candy Sprinkles” collection. While I loved this color, it was way more sheer than I was expecting it to me. I ended up using a coat of Sally Hansen Frost, which is a semi-opaque white color, and then three(!) layers of Gummy Green. I really don’t like the whites of my nail tips to show through my nail color, and if I had used thicker layers I probably could have gotten away with just using two layers. The color combination of this polish along with the white and black glitter remind me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. The glitter itself isn't actually sparkly, but I was okay with that!

The next polish is 672 Party Lights. This color is part of the  Hard Candy “Glitteratzi” collection. I wasn't too sure about this polish when I picked it up, just because I had never bought the brand before and glitters can be tricky to work with. However, I LOVED this glitter! I put it over two coats of Essie Licorice and I only had to use one coat of Party Lights and it covered my entire nail! I've never had a glitter that went on so well as this one did. The purple, turquoise and white glitter is a very pretty combination, and I think it would be an amazing polish to wear on a night out on the town.

627 Crush on Caribbean is part of the Hard Candy “Crushed Chromes” collection. It’s not a holo even though it may look like it is in the bottle. I can’t speak to the other polishes in this collection, and I’m not even sure if they are suppose to be holo anyways, their website isn't very specific. Anyways, I put this polish on and it instantly became one of my favorites! The color is this gorgeous, lush peacock turquoise color. I’m not normally a fan of blue polishes, but this polish is so in-between blue and green it’s amazing. You could probably get away with using one coat of this polish if it’s not too thin and you want to go for a lighter look, but I went ahead and did two coats for a more dramatic look. This will easily be a polish that I go back to.

All in all I was very impressed by these polishes! The formula was very easy to work with and I was happy with how all three of them turned out. If you’re interested in picking up a bottle of Hard Candy, you can visit their website at http://www.hardcandy.com or go to your local Wal-Mart and pick some up! I would definitely recommend it!

Ciao!
